About the House

The Alpha Omega House (also known as the “AO House”) is a collegiate men’s Christian Coop (i.e., a really big house with lots of rooms) owned and operated by First Baptist Church of Eugene, and is a ministry of Collegiate Christian Fellowship (also known as “CCF”). Located directly across the street from the University of Oregon, and adjacent to a central bus stop, the AO House is situated in the heart of the campus community. It’s convenient location makes it easily accessible for UO, LCC, and NCC students.
The AO “house” itself is a nicely restored historic home, tastefully decorated, featuring a large living space, an oak-floored dining room, well-stocked library of Christian resources, study lounge, DSL, basement, laundry facilities, private parking lot, pool table, and, of course, a sports channel or two. Two residence floors with private rooms are available for up to 24 residents (1 triple, 7 double and 8 single rooms). Each room is completely furnished and fitted for easy access to DSL/phone hook-ups.
Cost: The cost for the 2006-2007 academic year for room and board is $555/month.

House History

In 1946, First Baptist Church of Eugene purchased the large house at 1332 Kincaid Street, named it the Ann Judson House, and filled it with collegiate Christian women. The concept was simple - to create a unique living environment for collegians that would help them develop healthy relationships with the Lord and with each other, and to encourage them to minister for the Lord and to others. In 1971, for various reasons, the house was changed from a women’s living situation to a men’s living situation, and renamed the Way Inn. In 1984, the Way Inn was renamed the Alpha Omega House. The AO House is still committed to the House’s foundational purpose - to help collegians develop healthy relationships with the Lord and with each other, and to encourage them to minister for the Lord and to others.
